Sri Lanka, April 28 -- Heavy afternoon rain in Nuwara Eliya today (28) has led to flooding, affecting key infrastructure.
Reports from the area indicate that the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council grounds and entry roads to the town have been inundated.
Local sources suggest that blocked drainage channels were unable to cope with the volume of rainfall, causing water to spill onto major thoroughfares.
The Nuwara Eliya Dharmapala Roundabout, a crucial junction for traffic entering the town, is said to be completely under water, causing significant travel disruption for residents and visitors.
