Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- The Nuwara Eliya Police have taken legal action against 80 drivers for various traffic offences.
The police launched a special operation on the 8th of this month, inspecting a number of passenger buses, vans, three-wheelers, and school transport vehicles entering and leaving the Nuwara Eliya town.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Nuwara Eliya Police Traffic Division and the Nuwara Eliya Divisional Traffic Division.
According to Police Inspector Y.M.P.K. Yapa, the Officer-in-Charge of the Nuwara Eliya Police Traffic Division, several drivers were found to have dangerously modified their vehicles by adding unapproved parts.
