Srilanka, Nov. 18 -- The National People's Power (NPP) succeeded in establishing power in the Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha today, six months after the local government election.

When asked whether the election of the Chairman should be held through a vote, the 23 members of the NPP and the member representing Sarwajana Balaya expressed their preference for a secret ballot.

However, the remaining 23 members representing the opposition left the chamber at that time.

Since the member representing Sarwajana Balaya remained in the chamber, a quorum was completed, and a secret ballot was held.
