Srilanka, Nov. 14 -- The draft budget proposed for the year 2026 for the Naula Pradeshiya Sabha, which is controlled by the National People's Power (NPP), was defeated yesterday (13).

Accordingly, the budget proposal received 8 votes in favour and 9 votes against.

The National People's Power secured the governing power of the Naula Pradeshiya Sabha in the last local government election.

The total number of councillors in the Pradeshiya Sabha is 18, with the seats divided equally between the National People's Power (NPP) with 9 seats and the Opposition with 9 seats.
