Sri Lanka, May 7 -- The National People's Power has asserted that it will not join with any political party to establish power at any of the local government authorities.

Speaking to the media, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva clarified that while the National People's Power (NPP) has no plans to ally with any political party, it remains open to collaborating with independent groups in order to secure a majority.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa urged opposition parties to unite to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
