Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Elections Commission announced that nominations for the 2025 Local Government Elections will be accepted from March 17 to 12 noon on March 20.

The deposit of security money for the election will be accepted from March 3 until 12 noon on March 19, excluding the Poya Day on March 13 and weekends on March 8, 9, 15, and 16. Nominations will be accepted from March 17 to 19 between 8.30 a.m. and 8.30 p.m., and on March 20 from 4.15 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the offices of the respective Returning Officers, District Secretaries, and Government Agents.
