Sri Lanka, Dec. 21 -- An extraordinary gazette notification has been released to officially stop toll collection at the Kerawalapitiya interchange on the Katunayake Expressway.

The move, which comes into effect immediately, is aimed at putting an end to the "unnecessary" traffic congestion that has become a daily nightmare for commuters.

Under the new regulations, motorists will no longer be required to stop and pay at this specific interchange. This applies to:

Vehicles entering the Katunayake Expressway from the Outer Circular Expressway.

Vehicles transitioning from the Katunayake Expressway onto the Outer Circular Expressway.
