Sri Lanka, April 11 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has decided not to televise the President's performance of the New Year traditions this year, breaking from the tradition followed by his predecessors.
When contacted by Hiru News, the President's Media Director confirmed the decision, stating that, unlike former presidents, President Dissanayake has chosen not to air the traditions involving his family members.
However, a program is scheduled to be held to perform the New Year traditions with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
