Sri Lanka, July 8 -- The Election Commission has announced that Ushettige Don Nishantha Jayaweera has been gazetted as a National List Member of Parliament for the National People's Power (NPP) to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma.

Accordingly, Nishantha Jayaweera, nominated by the National People's Power, is expected to be sworn in as a National List MP during the upcoming parliamentary session.
