Sri Lanka, April 24 -- A nine-month-old girl died yesterday (23), following a traffic incident in the Thandiyadi area on the Pottuvil-Akkaraipattu main road in the Thirukkovil police division.

The incident occurred when a car travelling from Akkaraipattu towards Pothuvil collided with a cow on the road.

At the time of the collision, the car was occupied by the driver, his wife, and their young daughter.

The baby girl sustained injuries and was admitted to Thirukkovil Hospital. She was subsequently transferred to Akkaraipattu Hospital for further treatment, where she passed away.

The deceased was identified as a nine-month-old resident of the Addalachchenai 05 area.
