Sri Lanka, July 12 -- A full scholarship job training programme has been launched, aiming to provide local and overseas employment for 50,000 young men and women aged between 18 and 35 from low-income families.

This initiative is part of the "NEST Sri Lanka" state programme, which is implemented by the Samurdhi Development Department, under the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment.

The NEST programme aims to empower 2 million families over the next five years.

Accordingly, interviews to assess the skills of young men and women are scheduled to be held from July 15 to 23 at all Divisional Secretariats across the island.
