SriLanka, Jan. 27 -- A themed park intended to draw foreign tourists will occupy a 10-acre land plot adjacent to Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya. This development follows a recommendation by a special committee tasked with identifying uses for idle Urban Development Authority (UDA) land. The Cabinet approved the proposal to lease the site on the Dun bypass road for a 50-year term through international competitive procurement.
The project focuses on creating entertainment activities specifically designed for the international tourism market. The Minister of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development submitted the proposal to secure a suitable investor for the long-term development of this 10-acre, 3-rood, and 28-perch area.
