Sri Lanka, Feb. 1 -- The Railway Department has launched a new special train for local and foreign tourists traveling on the popular Kandy to Ella section of the Upcountry route. The maiden journey of the train began at 09:45 this morning from Kandy Railway Station.
Operating on weekends, the train will depart from Kandy at 09:45 and arrive at Demodara Railway Station at 17:22. It will return from Demodara at 18:00, heading back to Kandy.
The train features 396 reserved seats, including 176 in first class, 176 in second class, and 44 in third class. The ticket prices are Rs. 7000 for first class, Rs. 6000 for second class, and Rs. 5000 for third class.
