Sri Lanka, June 13 -- A new ward complex at the Katharagama District Hospital, constructed at a cost of Rs. 33 million using donations from devotees to the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya, was officially opened yesterday (12).

The facility was inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Nalinda Jayatissa.

The modern ward complex features 47 beds, including maternity beds and general ward beds.

It is also equipped with a contemporary toilet system, a delivery room, and dedicated rooms for healthcare staff.

Deputy Minister of Food Security and Consumer Affairs, R.M. Jayawardena, and the Basnayake Nilame of the Devalaya, Dilshan Gunasekara, were also present at the opening ceremony.
