Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- The Cabinet of Ministers approved the appointment of K.U. Chandralal, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, as the new District Secretary for the Galle Administrative District.

This appointment fills the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of the current Government Agent, W.A. Dharmasiri, who is set to leave public service on January 25.

The Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government introduced the proposal for this transition.

Chandralal currently serves as the Secretary to several Southern Provincial ministries, including Sports and Youth Affairs, Rural Development, Cultural Affairs, Social Welfare, and Housing and Construction.
