Sri Lanka, April 16 -- Police have revealed new details regarding two separate shootings that occurred in Mahiyanganaya and Gampaha yesterday (15).

In Mahiyanganaya, a 45-year-old man was injured in a shooting which took place in the Dodamwatte area yesterday (15) afternoon.

He was admitted to the Mahiyangana Base Hospital for treatment.

Investigations suggest that the shooting may have been in retaliation for a recent assault involving sharp weapons at a music concert in the same area.

Police have arrested one suspect and are continuing further investigations.

Meanwhile, another shooting occurred near the Gampaha public bus stand last night (15).
