Sri Lanka, June 2 -- A total of 2,983 personnel, including officers and other ranks who had deserted from the tri-forces, have been arrested in operations conducted between February 22 and May 30, says the Ministry of Defence.

The arrests include 2,261 personnel from the Army, 194 from the Navy, and 198 from the Air Force.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defence noted that the Sri Lanka Police also apprehended 330 deserters, comprising both officers and other ranks.
