Sri Lanka, May 17 -- Heavy rainfall in the Nawalapitiya area this afternoon (17) has led to significant flooding on the main road stretching from the Nawalapitiya bus station to the Nawalapitiya Sri Pada Pirivena.

The sudden downpour caused the road to become inundated, resulting in disruptions to vehicular traffic within the town, according to police.
