Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- A Navy soldier has been arrested in the Kuliyapitiya area with a T-56 firearm that had been missing since 2021.

He was arrested after a T-56 firearm, which went missing in 2021 from an arms storage facility he oversaw, was recovered during a search of his home in Illukhena.

Police stated that the soldier was taken into custody along with the weapon during the operation. Investigations are ongoing.
