Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has seized over 121kg of 'Kerala cannabis' valued at nearly Rs. 30 million.

The operation was carried out on August 27 and 29, during special search missions in local waters off Vankaleli in Mannar and Delft Island in Jaffna.

Five suspects, aged between 19 and 56 years, were taken into custody along with two dinghies used to transport the stock of cannabis.

The Navy said the contraband and suspects are being handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
