Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Sri Lanka Electricity Board's Engineers' Association stated that today's nationwide power outage, which occurred around 11:15 a.m., was primarily caused by low electricity demand on a Sunday afternoon and instability in solar power generation, which accounts for a significant portion of the national grid.
While they emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, the association explained that the national power system became unbalanced due to these factors, and the automatic emergency breakdown management process failed to restore it, leading to the complete outage.
