Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- National Organiser of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa has harshly criticised the government's handling of the country's law and order situation, claiming that despite Ministers' assurances, killings are resurfacing and the government is failing to ensure citizen safety.
Rajapaksa tweeted that while some NPP (National People's Power) Ministers claim daily shootings have stopped, killings seem to resurface when it "suits certain groups," with the government then quickly blaming them on underworld and drug-related crimes.
He noted that, despite these claims, hardly anyone has been arrested for the murders.
