Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa departed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) a short while ago following a four-hour statement.

The National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna was summoned to the CID on the 26th to provide a statement regarding an ongoing investigation into alleged links with the alleged organised criminal gang member "Kehelbaddara Padme."

The appearance took place today after the MP previously requested an alternative date due to being on a visit to India at the time of the original summons.
