Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Rasika Vithana, the son of Samagi Jana Balawegaya Kalutara District MP Jagath Vithana, was arrested today (19).

The arrest was made in the Matugama area by a team of officers, including the Director of the Panadura Walana Anti-Corruption Unit, acting on information received by Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya.

When inquired by Hiru News, the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit stated that Rasika Vithana was arrested over the alleged possession of an illegally assembled and imported Land Cruiser SUV.

Investigations have revealed that the jeep was assembled from parts and subsequently registered with the Department of Motor Traffic.
