Sri Lanka, July 3 -- MP Dayasiri Jayasekera made further revelations regarding the controversial release of containers from Customs, asserting that it is unfair to blame state officials for the incident.
Speaking at a press conference, he referred to accusations that 323 imported containers were released without Customs inspection during a port congestion in January.
In response to these allegations, the Ministry of Finance appointed a committee, on the President's instructions, to investigate and submit a report.
This report was tabled in Parliament last Monday (30) by Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Mujibur Rahman.
