Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archuna stated in Parliament yesterday (21), that the people of the South have now rejected former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, despite him being the one who enabled them to travel freely to the North.
During a parliamentary debate, the MP noted that while he personally opposes the former President and does not view him as a "god," many in the South once held that view.
MP Archuna emphasised that while Mahinda Rajapaksa is credited with providing the freedom for southern citizens to visit the North, those very people have now moved away from him politically.
