Sri Lanka, March 6 -- In a significant development, the parliamentary service of Member of Parliament Ali Sabri Rahim has been suspended for a period of one month, effective immediately.

The motion to suspend Ali Sabri Rahim's parliamentary service for one month was approved in the Parliament today, following recommendations from the Committee on Ethics and Privileges. The committee found that the privileges of Parliament and Members of Parliament had been violated due to the misconduct of Ali Sabri Rahim.
