Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- The Monaragala Pradeshiya Sabha has taken steps to upgrade the historically significant tourist bungalow located in G Lone mountain range within its administrative area.

According to Janaka Kuruppu, Chairman of the Monaragala Pradeshiya Sabha, the programme will include:

Renovating the rooms and repairing dilapidated areas of the bungalow and modernising the swimming pool.

The work is expected to cost approximately Rs. 3,753,000, which will be funded under the patronage of the Uva Provincial Ministry of Tourism.

The bungalow, located about six miles along a difficult route from Monaragala town, was constructed around 1907 and served for a time as a residence for estate superintendents.
