Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has announced that the introduction of Mobile Number Portability, which allows users to switch network providers without changing their phone number, has been postponed until next year.
The service was originally scheduled to be launched next month. However, according to the TRC's Director-General, Air Vice Marshal Bandula Herath (Retd), it has been delayed due to several technical issues.
He said that the service will begin once the system is fully established and the networks of all telecommunications companies are upgraded.
