Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- A new mobile medical laboratory bus service began operations today (21) to identify drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol or narcotics and to streamline subsequent legal procedures. The official launch took place at the Bastian Mawatha Main Bus Station premises in Colombo.

This specialised mobile service can produce results for four different types of drugs within two to three minutes by testing urine samples on-site. Plans are underway to expand this technical capability to detect up to 12 different types of narcotics in the future.
