Sri Lanka, June 27 -- The two missing Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha members representing the National People's Power (NPP), Ajith Priyantha and Kamani Alwis, have been found at Unawatuna beach in Galle.

The Police Media Division has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway, with further details to be provided as they emerge.

The two members were reported missing earlier today (27), during the inaugural session of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha, which was convened to elect its chairman.

Party members had alleged that the two individuals had been abducted, leading to significant unrest and the temporary suspension of the council's proceedings.
