SriLanka, Nov. 8 -- Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, has instructed officials to immediately expedite the recruitment of tutors for the country's nursing schools.
This directive follows a meeting between the Minister and the Nursing School Principals' Forum, which revealed a significant shortage of teaching staff.It was disclosed during the discussion that while the approved cadre for nursing tutors across the country's nursing schools is 395, the current number stands at only around 220, indicating a critical shortfall of approximately 175 nursing tutors.
