Sri Lanka, Feb. 4 -- Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa clarified yesterday (3) that doctors' transfers will not be carried out all at once, but will instead be implemented in several stages as required.

This statement comes as a response to concerns raised yesterday by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA), which claimed that 50 doctors from the National Eye Hospital were set to leave their posts simultaneously this week.

The Minister emphasised that the phased approach is intended to manage staffing levels effectively and ensure that hospital operations are not disrupted by sudden vacancies.
