Sri Lanka, April 30 -- Political parties across Sri Lanka are preparing to hold rallies and processions in view of International Workers' Day, with authorities implementing special security and traffic plans to manage the expected crowds.

Colombo is set to host 15 major events, including rallies, meetings and commemorations, while numerous other gatherings are scheduled across the country.

Police have urged motorists to use alternative routes due to potential traffic congestion and have deployed additional personnel to ensure public safety.
