Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- Several development projects at the Matale District General Hospital, costing over Rs.170 million, were handed over to the public today.
The projects were inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The new additions include a renovated Outpatient Department (OPD) and an Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU), which cost more than Rs.57 million.
Additionally, the hospital's common store was modernised for over Rs.5 million, and a new waste management unit was installed for more than Rs.8 million.
The Ministry of Health stated that these upgrades are expected to significantly improve the hospital's services.
