Srilanka, Feb. 15 -- Officers of the Western Province North Crimes Division have arrested a suspect in possession of a massive quantity of Kerala cannabis in Ragama.

The raid, conducted last night (14), resulted in the seizure of 271.835 kg of the substance, valued at several million rupees.

The operation was carried out based on a specific intelligence tip-off as part of the ongoing island-wide initiative to combat organised crime and drug trafficking.

Police Headquarters confirmed that the 34-year-old suspect is a resident of Colombo 14.

This seizure is considered one of the largest drug-related detections in the region in recent times.
