Sri Lanka, Nov. 2 -- The multi-day fishing vessel brought to the Dikowita Harbour this morning is reported to contain a large consignment of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine) and Heroin.

The Sri Lanka Navy confirmed that the drugs are currently being weighed and quantified.

The vessel was brought to shore this morning after being seized by the Navy in the deep sea west of the island, based on suspicion of transporting narcotics. The operation was launched following intelligence received regarding a local multi-day fishing vessel.

Navy Media Spokesman Commander Buddhika Sampath stated that six individuals who were on board the vessel were arrested during the operation.
