Sri Lanka, June 29 -- Smriti Mandhana produced a batting masterclass to lead India to a thumping 97-run victory over England in the opening match of the T20 International series.

This marks England's heaviest T20 defeat by runs in history.

The opener smashed a breathtaking 112 off just 62 balls, registering her maiden T20 international century.

Her innings included 15 boundaries and three sixes, showcasing her dominance on a flat Trent Bridge pitch and leaving the England bowlers with no answers.

Supported by Harleen Deol, who added a brisk 43 off 23 deliveries, Mandhana helped India post a mammoth 210 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
