Sri Lanka, July 27 -- A 65-year-old man, who was held in the Kilinochchi Police cell, took his own life on July 25.

Our correspondent states that the individual was arrested by Kilinochchi Police due to a family dispute.

He was being held until he could be produced in court.

According to our correspondent, the man took his own life by hanging himself with his clothes inside the cell.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
