Sri Lanka, April 19 -- Police in Manampitiya have apprehended a 38-year-old resident following a shooting incident at the Living Christ Church in the Manampitiya Ayurveda area last night.
The suspect, identified as a resident of Main Street, Manampitiya, allegedly fled the scene after firing shots at the church. He was later arrested, and authorities recovered a locally manufactured firearm believed to have been used in the incident.
While no injuries were reported, a window of the church was damaged in the shooting.
Initial investigations indicate that the suspect approached the church gate, surveyed the premises, and then retreated to the road before discharging the firearm and fleeing.
