Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- A man who impersonated veteran film director Somaratne Dissanayake to obtain nude photos and videos from women across the island, promising them acting roles, has apologised to the director in court today (21).

The suspect told the court that he is even willing to publicly apologise to Dissanayake through the media for the defamation and disrepute caused.

The apology was made through his lawyer when the case was called before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga.

The suspect, a 26-year-old postal worker named Isuru Madumal from Polgahawela, was produced in court from remand prison.
