Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- Horana police report that a man has been murdered in the Kabelle-goda area of Horana, allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod.

According to police, the incident occurred after a heated argument escalated between two friends who were drinking alcohol together.

The suspect is believed to have committed the murder inside a room at his home. Following the assault, he wrapped the body in a bedsheet. Police say their investigation has revealed that the suspect was preparing to move the body to another location.

The individual connected to the crime has since fled the area. Horana police are conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspect.
