Sri Lanka, May 28 -- A heated argument between two individuals in the area of Thaladuwa, Negombo, escalated into gunfire last afternoon.

According to the Police Media Division, the dispute began over WhatsApp messages and continued when the two men met in person.

During the confrontation, a 53-year-old man fired a pistol-type firearm into the air.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect, a resident of the same area, was arrested shortly after the incident.
