Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a female university student on a private bus has been released on two personal bail bonds of Rs. 200,000 each by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court. The suspect, identified as Kapila Prasad Premachandra from the Weeraketiya area, was arrested by Cinnamon Gardens Police.
According to police, the 27-year-old victim, a student at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo, was traveling from Horana to the university when the incident occurred. The suspect, who was sitting behind her, allegedly groped her on several occasions.
