Sri Lanka, May 24 -- The last rites of the late veteran actress Malini Fonseka will be performed with state honours at Independence Square on Monday (26).

Her body is scheduled to be brought to her residence at 5:00 PM today, May 24.

The revered 'Queen' of Sri Lankan cinema, Malini Fonseka, passed away this morning while receiving treatment at a private hospital.

She was 78 years old at the time of her passing.
