Sri Lanka, Dec. 19 -- The Ministry of Plantations and Community Infrastructure has announced that train services on the Main Line between Badulla and Ambewela will officially resume tomorrow (20).
The rail link had been paralysed for 23 days following catastrophic damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah, which triggered massive landslides and washaways along the scenic highland tracks.
To mark the restoration of the track, a special Class S14 power-set train, designated as the 'Udarata Menike' (SPL 1016), will depart from the Badulla Railway Station tomorrow morning.
