Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Former ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando, along with retired Major General Nanda Mallawarachchi, were formally indicted before the Colombo High Court today (21) for allegedly misusing public property during the 2014 Presidential Election.

The case concerns the importation of carrom and draught boards through the Sri Lanka Sports Federation, which were allegedly distributed to sports associations for political advantage, an offence under the Public Property Act.

High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne ordered the release of all three accused on bail.
