Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- The Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority has initiated a program to expand dairy farming in the Mahaweli colonies to meet the country's liquid milk demand in a short period, aligning with the government's objectives.

This initiative is being carried out alongside the revival program in the Mahaweli C zone, encouraging residents to engage in milk production as an additional income source alongside paddy farming.

Selected farmers and school children are receiving theoretical and practical training on milk production, with plans to implement the program throughout the Mahaweli C zone.
