Sri Lanka, April 29 -- Sri Lanka Cricket and the Lanka Premier League event rights holder, The IPG Group, have announced the termination of franchise partnerships for the Colombo Strikers and Jaffna Kings.

This decision comes after both franchises reportedly failed to meet their contractual obligations.

In a statement, Sri Lanka Cricket noted that the upcoming Lanka Premier League season, as a result, will see new owners for the Colombo and Jaffna teams.

The IPG Group, which holds the rights to the franchises, will oversee the transfer of ownership.
