Sri Lanka, Dec. 27 -- he central government remains unaffected by the rejection of budgets within local government bodies, according to Deputy Minister of Labour Mahinda Jayasinghe.
During a media briefing in Gampaha, the Deputy Minister emphasised that these defeats represent a setback for the public rather than the National People's Power (NPP).
He highlighted that the recently rejected Colombo Municipal Council budget included numerous projects designed to improve essential public services for the upcoming year.
The proposed relief measures within these budgets aimed to benefit all citizens regardless of their political affiliation.
